Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register with Autumn Animals? You can register with Autumn Animals by going to our contact form and sending us a message. Alternatively, you can download the Digitail app for pet parents and find us on there.
Do you have a clinic I can visit? We are a mobile clinic and as such, do not have a brick and mortar surgery you can visit. We come to your home for consultations.
How do I pay for your services? We will send you an invoice for services provided after every consultation. You can pay this invoice by bank transfer.
How do I know when it's time to put my pet to sleep? It's often difficult to know when it's time to euthanise your pet. We are happy to talk you through it and/or to schedule in a Doula support session, so that we can together figure out what the best time would be.
How does euthanasia work? We have written a whole page on what to expect when we come over to put your pet to sleep. Just visit our 'Euthanasia' page. There you'll also find a video outlinging all the steps of the process.
I prefer my pet to die peacefully in their sleep. Is that possible? Non-human animals are very hardy creatures. It's not often they pass away naturally. And when they do, it hardly happens peacefully and without distress. On our 'Euthanasia' page, you can read more about why 'Euthanasia' is called "the Good Death". We are open and happy to discuss all options with you, from natural death to euthanasia.
Why do your prices seem a bit higher than our usual vet visits? We offer personalised and pro-active veterinary care in the comfort of your home. This demands more time than the face-time you get. Although that face-time is long and high quality, ensuring 100% of our attention is spent on you and your pet, a lot of work and travel time goes in behind the scenes. We do not charge steep margins like other veterinary surgeries, but charge for our time. Furthermore, we pay everybody working for Autumn Animals a more than fair wage, including amazing benefits, such as travel expenses and paid travel time. We believe that if we charge a fair rate to our clients, we do not need to cut corners on paying our staff and the quality of care.
How much does it cost to put my pet to sleep at home? Our prices for at-home euthanasia start at £500, excluding after-passing care. This covers all addressess witin zones 1 and 2 of the TfL network. If you live outside of those zones, we will add travel expenses and time to the standard price.
How quickly can you come to our home to put our pet to sleep? We need at least 12 hours to plan ahead as all our team members have other responsibilities on top of Autumn Animals. We will always try to help you as soon as possible in case of an emergency.
My pet has collapsed in the middle of the night. What do I do? At the moment, we are unable to offer 24/7 care. If your pet seems in distress, please contact your primary veterinary surgery or their Out of Hours service immediately. If you do not have a primary veterinary surgery, you can contact The London Cat Clinic (cats only) or The London Animal Hospital for emergency care. They are our dedicated Out of Hours Service providers and will help you and your pet.
Which areas do you cover? We cover lots of London for the most of the services. For the home euthanasia service, we cover zones 1 and 2 for a standard fee. Outside of those zones, we need to charge you added travel time and expenses and consultations are dependent on availability.
