Services for Pet Caregivers

Grief Support for Pet Caregivers

Whether you need someone to listen to you cry or help you prepare for a difficult conversation with your family, I offer a safe and confidential space where you can voice your worries, struggles and fears. As an End-of-Life Doula for people facing pet loss, I provide compassionate support for individuals and their pets during the autumn of a pet's life and after.*

To book your spot, I request a small fee of £10. This will be donated to Our Special Friends, a non-profit which helps people continue to benefit from animal companionship by providing physical and emotional support during illness, bereavement or other crises. You can make a donation via this secure PayPal page.

Geriatric Care Coaching for Pet Caregivers

If you want to make sure you take care of your healthy golden oldie in the best way possible, or if your pet has just been diagnosed with a chronic health condition, I can coach you using my unique approach to holistic pet care, which leaves you feeling empowered and improves the Quality of Life for your pet and yourself.

I believe high-quality geriatric pet care should be accessible to all, which is why I charge a small fee of £45 per hour to honour my time and your commitment. If this price is not accessible to you, please get in touch anyway!*

Quality of Life Assessment

If you want to know what your best friend's quality of life is, I have an open-access Quality of Life calculator available for you. Feel free to use it as often as you like and share it with your friends, family and veterinarian.

* I do not offer medical or therapeutic advice, for your pet or yourself.

Calls with me are for support only and do not take away the need for visiting a qualified veterinarian.

If you feel you need urgent mental health support, I suggest calling your GP or Samaritans.

My Approach

With years of experience caring for geriatric animals and their caregivers (I don't like the word 'owners' in this context), I have designed an approach to veterinary End-of-Life care that is based on four pillars.

  • Physical Comfort

  • Emotional Comfort

  • Social Support

  • Control of the Situation

Making sure these pillars are taken care of for both the pet and their caregivers will enable a shared life experience that is high-quality, empowering and filled with love.

What People Say

"Sieske is the person you want by your side when things get rough ... [she] was also recently my end-of-life companion. When the day came to say goodbye to my beautiful Tiara, Sieske was also the one who heard me as I cried and tried to come to terms with the horrible decision I had to make. She was the one I turned to when, months after my heartbreak, I was struggling to cope with the pain. She sat with me and we talked it out, she told me about what resources are out there for pet parents grieving." Carla

"When Millie died, Sieske provided us with support. It is still such a comfort to know that someone else cared about how Millie was feeling as she got older." Siobhan and Paul

"Sieske was an absolute rock for us both and our dog Baxter as he was approaching the end of his life. Her support, in depth knowledge and willingness to do the very best for all of us meant that we could navigate his end-of-life journey in an informed and caring way." Rosalind and Gerry
