GDPR Policy

Last updated: 27 June 2026

This page explains how Autumn Animals complies with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and sets out your rights over your personal data. For details of what data we collect and why, see our Privacy Policy.

Who we are

Autumn Animals is a brand name and the Intellectual Property of Sieske Valk, based in Devon, UK. Sieske Valk is the data controller for personal data collected through this website.

Our legal basis for processing your data

Under UK GDPR, we must have a valid legal basis for processing personal data. We rely on the following:

  • Consent - for sending newsletter emails, and for intake or research surveys you choose to take part in via Google Forms. You can withdraw consent at any time.

  • Contract/performance of a service - for managing coaching enquiries, bookings, and delivering coaching sessions.

  • Legitimate interests - for site analytics and improving our website and services, where this doesn't override your own privacy rights.

Our free Quality of Life Assessment tool can be used anonymously and doesn't collect personal data, so no legal basis for processing applies to it.

Your data protection rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Be informed about how your data is used (this policy and our Privacy Policy)

  • Access the personal data we hold about you

  • Rectification - ask us to correct inaccurate data

  • Erasure - ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten"), where applicable

  • Restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances

  • Data portability - receive your data in a portable format, where applicable

  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests

  • Rights related to automated decision-making - we don't use automated decision-making or profiling that affects you

How to exercise your rights

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@autumnanimals.com. We'll respond within one month, as required by law.

How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only as long as necessary. Full retention details are in our Privacy Policy. Currently, enquiry and coaching records (including call recordings and transcripts) are kept for up to two years after our working relationship ends.

International data transfers

Some of the third-party services we use (Wix, Google Analytics, Google Calendar, Google Forms, and Fathom) may store or process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on the provider's own safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure your data remains protected to UK GDPR standards.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal data, please contact us first at hello@autumnanimals.com so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.

Autumn Animals is not currently registered with the ICO as a data controller.
